And we're off...

...to Kelowna for BC/YT!!!! My flight leaves tomorrow at 2:15 and we'll just pray it's a smooth, on-time (and not cancelled due to fog) flight. Deal? Thanks!!! It didn't take me as long as I thought it would to pack - perhaps it's because I pretty much packed everything that fits Alexys?

She's almost asleep for the night - I'm rocking her in her chair with my foot as I type this. It's her favourite place to fall asleep...and no matter if she's tired or not she'll fall asleep if I turn on the vibrate and rock her with my foot. However, when she is tired (like now) she falls asleep much faster. And then I put her in her bed and I follow right behind in my own bed.

Oh, and perhaps you don't know what BC/YT is? Well, it's provincials for synchronized skating, which I am an avid fan of. My team is competing and so I'm the cheering squad :) Really, though, perhaps I'm just addicted to zamboni fumes? I'm hoping that Alexys will be too, and I need to start her early :) I know it'll be very hard on me to watch my team compete, and not be able to be on the ice or in the dressing room. I know it'll be very hard to have them go and warm up and I sit in the stands and wait for them to come back. I know I'll cry when they skate (good or bad!)...partially because of their music choice, partially because my heart aches (I'll share about that another day). BUT I know I'll be back next year (actually I've already been skating twice this month!), and that I love Alexys more than skating anyways. I never thought it was possible to love something more than I love skating - but (not so) suprisingly Alexys easily surpasses it.

Anyways. Here's a picture of my beautiful blonde-haired, blue eyed beauty. She's asleep and I'm about to join her :) Can't wait to share our adventures with you after the weekend!!!

She's adorable.

I hope the flight goes well, and yes that there are no delays.

It's a weird feeling that all of a sudden you realize that something has well surpassed your love of skating isn't it? I went through all this last year as you recall, it's hard because skating is probably the most emotion laden thing we've ever done and then along comes a baby and you realize that you have never loved anythng as much. It is the best thing ever, and the hardest thing ever trying to balance the two. I hope your flight goes great and that Alexys isn't too fussy for you!
