I actually wrote this a few days ago...

On the flight home - again...fast asleep! :) What a little angel baby!

Her boyfriend Owen causing trouble - he was just getting her back for making him cry in the car the night before, we think....but it's still a cute picture no?

Alexys looks a little bit concerned, but Owen is certainly digging her ;)

Alexys' (fast asleep, of course) first time on a plane - with Mamma and Auntie Bre!

Well, we're home from Kelowna (have been since Sunday night actually), and I can officially say that Alexys' first (and second, too) flight was a great success!! She slept through the entire thing both times. Given, it was only a 33 minute flight, but she was still an angel...as per usual!

We had a blast in Kelowna - Alexys, of course, was great the whole weekend. She got to meet her Great Auntie Nancy and Great Auntie Heather, and her second cousins - Josh, Jake and Britt (Kadi had to work). Aly smiled and smiled at Auntie Nancy...it was pretty cute. The weather was decent while we were up there - not as cold as I had prepared her clothing for - so that was nice. Alexys certainly got passed around at the rink!!! She was spoiled all weekend, hardly ever not being held. I even had one mom bribe me with coffee if she could hold Alexys - it was pretty cute.

And of course, the skating was fabulous (for the most part!). My team did fabulous. They were 2nd after the first skate by about three points - they had an okay skate, but not perfect. They came back with a vegence the next day and won the second skate by almost 4 points, but it wasn't enough to overtake Coquitlam overall...they placed second by 0.17!!! I definitely think that by the end of the year, we'll be kicking their butt by a lot of points, but it is nice for them to have competition. I didn't cry as hard as I thought I would. It was very hard to watch, and I wanted to be out there so badly...but it was okay. I held Alexys in my arms, and all was right in the world. I know I'll be back next year, and that one day Aly will have her time on a synchro team (well, if she wants to), and I will know how to just stand in the crowd and cheer. I also need to mention how NERVOUS I was for my ladies...I'm not even that nervous when I compete.

Anyways. They leave for Westerns on Thursday, and you know I'll be following their every move on the internet, and crossing all my fingers and toes for them.

hope you missed me,
kortney elise xoxo

(PS: I wrote this up on Monday, but never finished posting it!)

I have to say, Ms. Story, that you are a continuing inspiration to me. Your tenacity and unyielding zest for life and experiencing every day to the fullest compels me to stretch myself to do the same.

I never thought I'd feel like I wanted to be in competition against a Christian female ice skating bloggist.
