Well, if you know me, you'll know it's not so secret. I love perezhilton.com. There. It's out. I know it's terrible, but I love reading celebrity trash. This is my way of not buying gossip magazines. So I'll just keep reading. I know it's not all true. I know there's other gossip sites out there with maybe more truth to them. But I like Perez and his sense of humour (usually). But here's something that Perez wouldn't have on his site. I know it. He previously bashed the breastfeeding doll (I don't know what I think of the doll. I think mostly I think: Do we need to actually have a doll marketed for breastfeeding? Why can't I use a regular doll? Doesn't that happen anyways?) and so it seems that maybe he doesn't support breastfeeding. But who knows. Anyways. Here's my tribute to celebrities and breastfeeding.

Heck, even Britney Spears nursed both her boys for a little while.
Who's not nursing their babies? Well, there's no extensive list, but a recent quote from Jennifer Lopez on her twins, Emme and Max:
"My mom didn't breastfeed and I think that was the thing for me. You read and figure out what's the best thing for them."
My question is, where did she read that it was best to give them formula? Perhaps she meant differently, but it doesn't seem so. I realize that there are circumstances and situations that arise where formula is the best and/or only option (and in those cases, those moms should be supported and cared for as much as the breastfeeding mom is), but when a celebrity makes a statement like JLo did, many moms, especially young ones, do take note. And that's too bad for so many. Remember girls, if Britney Spears can try it, so can you.
Just kidding. I know I'm hilarious.

If Britney Spears can try it so can you!?!? Seriously? LMAO! That has to be the funniest thing I've read in a while Kortney!
As for J-Lo I doubt she meant that formula is a better choice than breastmilk probably more like it is definitely a good enough choice. For all the hype there is out there for breastfeeding there are still many, many people who make the choice to not even try. Who knows why, but if you don't think its right for you then its better to just trust your instincts. And really did you take J-Lo as the stay at home, breastfeeding twins type of gal anyways? I didn't.
I am all for breastfeeding but I think it would be really difficult to nurse twins! However I would have at least tried!
That website it dangerously addictive!! I try not to go on too much, haha.
It may be difficult to nurse twins, but not as difficult as to nurse Sydney. And we still stick with it ! When I started read your post, I immediatly thought of Jlo, since I remember her quote. And sure enough, scroll down and you're mentioning her. There was a huge debate on CBB when she came out with that. I also heard someone saying that formula fits better their lifestyle. Like if BF is a statement or something... Anyway I totally agree. BF is best, although there are some circumstances where formula must be used. I have some friends wiht babies with reflux and they can't nurse, everything they eat upsets the babies.
Btw Sydney just nursed and is now happily cooing herself to sleep
And haha for britney spears comment. ALso i dont think there should be a nursing doll and I dont think there should be a t-shirt "my baby is an ivf baby" etc. I think everyone should take these things naturally, too much highlight is as bad as no highlight (or hiding)
I couldn't nurse Sydney because she was born with a soft palate cleft and was in the NICU for 9 days after she was born. My milk never even actually came in much at all. I was devastated. I was really anti-formula before then.
That being said, I've nursed my other 2 and love it probably more than I would have if I had not gone through that ordeal with Syd. I do agree it's best and should at least be tried...if nothing else, it's free!!
