...I'm going to tell you things that irritate me about other parents. And children. You might be offended, be warned. I might just be in a bad mood and probably, if this is you, and we're friends, I'll never mention it, and you don't actually irritate me. But I had to get it out.
People irritate me when they send their kids to big fancy schmancy daycares and preschools and brag about it everywhere. It's one thing to be proud (of course we should be proud), but when you put them in daycares and schools that actually cost more than your paycheque and shove it in everyone's face, it really irritates me.
Someone told me the other day that sending their kid to daycare cost just a bit more of their paycheque every week. I don't get this and it irritates me and I think it's weird. You're going to work and sending your kid to daycare, but you're losing money (not making it). I understand people have to work in our society - I'm not judging you. But when your daycare costs more than you're making, I think you need your priorities realigned. And don't tell me that you need to get out of the house. Yes, you probably do - we all do. But I don't understand why you don't find an activity to do that is fun - if you're already losing money and are apt to do that, find something to do at night and spend money on that, and raise your kid (or perhaps just adjust your daycare provider because that's ridiculous). Because no one likes to work - and if you do, well I judge you too. Weirdo (and I like my job - that's not the problem...I still don't like to work).
People who extreme coupon also irritate me. Sorry if you're trying to save money, but it just really bugs me that you buy all this crap (literally) and have 8000 of them. Don't try and make me do it. I think it's stupid. I buy what I need, when I need it. If there is a coupon, great. There's nothing wrong with getting a deal or using coupons - but people who prepare for their grocery trip for 6 hours (literally) and then lose a coupon and have a mental breakdown at the store, yah, sorry - you irritate me, and you look like an idiot.
I could go on and on about things that irritate me.
I think I've got the things that really bug me out of my skin. If I get too specific now, people will start to be offended. So I'll shut up before I dig my grave.

hahahahaha I love you.
I will never understand extreme couponing. Do these people eat vegetables? Because I've never seen a coupon for fresh carrots.
Also, you know what really irritates me? People who let their children scream. All. Day. Long. I swear, if I have to listen to those children behind me screaming one more time, Im going to hurt someone.
HAHAHA. Awesome.
I agree totally. But I also know about the guilt that comes with having to put your child in daycare. I chose the most expensive daycare that I looked at for Mackenzie, the price wasn't a bonus it was a negative. I didn't pick it because of the price, and I didn't think it was right to make a decision like that based on money. We all want our children to be happy and that decision needs to be based on what is going to meet the needs of everyone involved. I had to fight to convince everyone else that the price was worth it. In case you don't know daycare is really expensive, and money doesn't always buy the best one, some cheap ones are great and expensive ones suck.
Why someone would want to work if they weren't actually making enough money to pay daycare and have some leftover bewilders me. It would probably be more affordable in that case to hire a live-in nanny for minimum wage (they are everywhere).
As far as liking to work, there are alot of people of there who like working, if I won the lottery, I'd still work at least part time, work helps you feel like a contributor financially. It challenges you emotionally. And having been a SAHM and a student, and for a month a working mom, I know what's hardest and I still want to work. I like it.
Don't worry I didn't take any one this personally. Partially, because I don't care if others judge me and partially because I know we all have our cranky days. Good on you for speaking your mind Kort, it's part of what makes you who you are, and I love who you are.
I hope you don't consider me an extreme couponer !
Look at you go! You're on fire girl!
Haha Ashley - I love you and am proud of how hard you've worked for what you want - totally wasn't about you. I just couldn't understand how someone could work 40 houes a weel and spend 110 percent of their paycheque on childcare. I know its expensive, but that is so illogical to me.
And don't forget I work almost full time too - I just put those hours in when everyone else is sleeping...I think people forget this!
I agree with everything you said except the lottery thing - I would absolutely quit my job....I would volunteer my time with skating even more. I would take university classes for fun. I would put Alexys in every activity she wanted and put myself in volunteer positions in those. But work? Never - I lovr my job and literally would not choose a different one in any way even if I could have any job in the world...but I'd still quit tomorrow if I could lol.
But you totally pegged me on the cranky pants ;)
And Mrs. Winters - this is awesome - how did you find my blog?
(Ahem, excuse my spelling errors on that post - I was on my phone LOL!)
I hear the daycare thing. Especially if you don't even have a job, fancy expensive preschools aren't the greatest idea
