I hate debt.
And soon and very soon we will be out of debt, save for our mortgage. I don't count that in the same way though.
We paid off a debt this month we had from a few years ago - to our dentist. We went over what we could spend on benefits and it hit us unexpectedly. We finally did it. It's gone. And it feels great. Especially since I didn't go to the dentist while we were paying it off because I felt bad. I've made appointments for all of us for January.
We paid off Jord's car last year sometime, so no payments there either.
Next up - I have a small tab on my credit card. It's not much, but I want it gone. And so I've made a goal for myself. Well, actually...first I made a goal, then I thought about it and then realized that wasn't feasible unless someone took Alexys everyday for me. So here's my goal - sharing it might make it more real to me:
1. Need to type approximately 1500 audio minutes.
2. In 15 days, that's 100 minutes a day. Doable, but not very easily. Therefore - 50 minutes everyday (except Mondays when we're not allowed to type), allowing for Mondays off, and a 3-day grace period seeing as though this will be over Christmas.
3. By December 31st, I will have worked enough audio minutes to pay off my credit card.
Putting that down on paper for me, makes it realistic and attainable. Isn't that part of goal setting? I remember (okay, I googled it) - SMART goals are specific, measurable, attainable, realistic, and timely.
After this one, we have Jord's credit card (and yes, we are then cutting up our credit cards and keeping just one, emergency one) and the rest of my student loan. I am setting SMART goals for those too - after this first one of course.
Or maybe I'll just win the lottery instead. It's all part of baby steps to live and love my life NOW.

Thanks for your comment on my post Kortney, even virtual hugs help. And yep, the healthy baby line is so not helpful sometimes :)
We would love a visit sometime - I won't be 100% for some time, but that's okay :)
great job, girl.
we're still paying off ali's birth...and obviously i've had 2 babies since then whose births we paid cash for! so yeah, we could have had that paid off, but hey.
we have the van payment, too...but both of those are fairly low. i'm dying to get them paid off so we can start some major projects on this house. as much as i'm tempted, i really don't want to take out a loan to do all of the improvements on this place! (although i feel like it will take us years to be able to afford to completely redo the kitchen since i hate almost everything about it. =P)
Let me know Cassy - you're the boss :)
And thanks Drea!!! I can't imagine having to pay for kids' births - that's just so mentally crazy for me - but what a great job paying for the other 2 in cash!
